Mining Matters Volunteer Training Workshop

When: Sunday, March 3, 2019 - 9:00 am – 10:30 am

Where: Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Room 711

Interested in sharing your knowledge and expertise with students? Minerals industry professionals frequently volunteer as guest speakers to educate young minds and share their love of what they do. Presentations delivered by industry experts, geoscientists-in-training and post-secondary students enhance the classroom experience. Let us set you up for success! Mining Matters is offering a free 90-minute volunteer training workshop during the PDAC Convention complete with a presentation kit containing colourful posters, activities and samples of rocks and minerals that match to everyday products. The workshop provides a presentation outline, tips for discussing your own experiences and how to deliver an effective and enthusiastic presentation to stimulate curiosity and foster a positive attitude towards the industry. If you want to inspire the next generation of geoscientists, this is the perfect opportunity.

The workshop is free. Continental breakfast provided. The deadline for registration is February 21, 2019. Contact info@miningmatters.ca or sign up on the MiningMatters.ca website.  To participate in this workshop, you must be registered for the PDAC Convention. An Exhibits Day Pass is available for $24.99 (https://www.pdac.ca/convention/registration/registration-information)
