Women In Mining Canada

Women in Mining Canada (WIMC) is a national not-for-profit organization formed in 2009 focused on advancing the interests of women in the minerals exploration and mining sector.

In collaboration with Canadian WIMC branches we support grassroots initiatives in the realm  of personal and professional development, while providing a national voice within the global  minerals and mining community.

Our membership is composed of passionate men and women who actively support the minerals and mining industry, and represent a variety of occupational trades and professions.

Toronto Geological Discussion Group

The Toronto Geological Discussion Group (TGDG) is a local learned society for geoscience and mining professionals.
Our mission is to provide ongoing and relevant education and networking opportunities to our members and the wider public, with emphasis on geology, new deposit models and the application of exploration techniques. We are funded through our members, and through company sponsors
who share our passion for geology.

Our program provides this community with bi-monthly late afternoon technical meetings, from September to May,
and two half day symposiums annually. Attendance at
TGDG events qualifies as part of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD), required to maintain professional
status as a Geoscientist.

We host an online community (on Slack) to help reach all of our members, who are located across Canada and the world, and are often travelling or in the field.
