Corporate Social Responsibility: Aim for the Best; Prepare for the Worst

Guest Speaker: Leslie O'Donoghue, Executive Vice President, Corporate Development & Strategy and Chief Risk Officer, Agrium Inc.

Please join us for another reception to introduce Women in Mining Toronto Branch (WIM) to Women in Capital Markets (WCM). This reception will be the fourth in a series hosted by Norton Rose Canada on corporate social responsibility (CSR), a topic of interest that is common to members of both WIM and WCM.

Our guest speaker is Leslie O'Donoghue, Executive Vice President, Corporate Development & Strategy and Chief Risk Officer, Agrium Inc., a global supplier of agricultural products and services. Ms. O’Donoghue will speak on how taking an integrated approach to risk management helps companies better prepare for unexpected events that can affect value, proxy fights, hostile take-over bids, environmental challenges, and more. She will discuss the importance of good governance, and how critical it is to a company’s long-term success.

In addition to her role at Agrium, Ms. O’Donoghue serves as a Director on the board of Pembina Pipeline Corporation, a NYSE/TSX-listed energy infrastructure company. She was also a co-chair of Calgary's 2012 United Way Campaign. Ms. O’Donoghue is the recipient of many awards and recognitions, including being listed as one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100, by Women’s Executive Network (WXN) in 2009, 2011 and 2012.

The presentation will be followed by a cocktail reception hosted by Norton Rose Canada, a law firm known for excellence in the area of natural resources.
